The vacuum disc dryer aims to achieve energy saving and environmental protection
From:Jiangsu Yutong Drying Engineering Co. Ltd  Updatetime:2026-05-26   Visits :1002

Vacuum disc dryers are evolving towards energy conservation and consumption reduction. Many people believe that dryers consume too much electricity. In fact, there are various heat sources that can be used in dryers, such as wood, natural gas, electricity, oil, and so on. If electricity is required, it is recommended to use high-temperature heat pump dryers. This type of vacuum disc dryer can save more than 70% energy compared to electric heating tubes. Vacuum disc dryers are mainly used for drying mushrooms, clothing, grain, fertilizers, mosquito repellent incense, fabrics, tobacco leaves, leather, vegetables, pharmaceuticals, pulverized coal, coal sludge, lignite, sludge, wood, and more. The unit has a high energy efficiency ratio, is safe and stable, and is economical and energy-saving. It consumes only one-fourth to one-third of the energy used by ordinary electric boilers and fuel boilers for drying.

It's actually quite simple. The fundamental principle of energy conservation lies in optimizing the heat source. By utilizing energy-saving vacuum disc dryers, users can reduce their actual consumption and maximize profits. This not only aligns with the national energy-saving policy but also better adapts to the market. The drying process consumes a significant amount of heat energy. To conserve energy, materials with high moisture content, suspensions or solutions containing solid substances are generally first mechanically dehydrated or heated for evaporation, and then dried in a dryer to obtain dry solids.

During the drying process, the vacuum disc dryer needs to simultaneously complete the transfer of heat and mass (moisture), ensuring that the moisture vapor partial pressure (concentration) on the surface of the material is higher than that in the external space, and that the temperature of the heat source is higher than the temperature of the material.

Heat is transferred to the wet material from a high-temperature heat source in various ways. The vacuum disc dryer vaporizes the moisture on the surface of the material and dissipates it into the external space, resulting in a difference in moisture content between the surface and the interior of the material. The internal moisture diffuses towards the surface and vaporizes, continuously reducing the moisture content of the material, gradually completing the overall drying of the material.
